The Revolution Will Not Be Funded: Beyond the Non-Profit Industrial Complex is a political and social theory anthology edited by INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence. It examines how the nonprofit sector, especially foundation-funded social justice organizations, can shape movements in ways that limit radical change. Rather than treating nonprofits as neutral vehicles for good work, the book asks how funding structures, professionalization, and state and corporate interests influence what kinds of activism are possible. Rooted in the perspectives of women of color organizers, the collection is both a critique of the nonprofit industrial complex and a call to rethink movement strategy, accountability, and autonomy. It is widely used by activists, organizers, and scholars interested in anti-racist, feminist, and decolonial approaches to collective action.
