Fans First: Change The Game, Break the Rules and Create an Unforgettable Experience is a business and customer-experience book by Jesse Cole, founder of the Savannah Bananas. Using the Bananas as its principal case, the book explains how a baseball organization turned attention away from conventional sports-industry assumptions and toward the total experience of attending a game. Its purpose is not to offer a technical guide to baseball operations. Instead, it argues that organizations can earn unusually strong loyalty when they design every interaction around people rather than around internal convenience, standard practice, or short-term transactions. Cole combines entrepreneurial memoir, examples from live entertainment, leadership observations, and a repeatable operating framework called the Five Es. The result is an energetic, practice-oriented argument for creating fans rather than merely serving customers. While the examples are deliberately theatrical, the underlying questions apply beyond sports: where does the customer journey create needless effort, what moments are memorable enough to be shared, and how can teams test better ways of delivering value?
